The mum of Britain's biggest family has shown just how much packing goes into taking her enormous household on a short holiday.

Parents, Sue and Noel Radford, took their 22 children on holiday to Alton Towers this week and posted the highlights of their trip on the family Instagram page.

In a post before they left home for the Staffordshire adventure park, Sue, 46, showed followers the wardrobe full of clothes she rummaged through to find suitable outfits for her youngsters to ride the coasters.

"Trying to pack for a few days away is taking me ages," Sue wrote on the family's Instagram story.

Sue, from Morecambe, Lancs., keeps a full schedule of housework to look after the children, but previously confessed that doing "never-ending" piles of laundry was her most disliked chore, the Daily Star reports.

"An average day, I can be doing four to five loads of washing. It's never-ending," she has said.

In the days after the post, Sue and Noel have filmed their toddlers and children exploring the park's hotel and jumping on the exhilarating rides.

One photo shows dad Noel at the front as the thrill-seeking kids rode the Runaway Mile Train.

In another, the huge household can be seen squeezing in for a snap in front of a sculpture at the park.

"What an AMAZING day making beautiful memories absolutely love Alton Towers #staycation #altontowers #m akingmemories ," the caption reads.

The staycation comes days after Sue, 45, and Noel, 49, ditched their massive brood and enjoyed a rare date night at the pictures, watching the new Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt fantasy film Jungle Cruise.

The couple shared a pictured of themselves posing for a romantic toast with champagne flutes, as they relaxed on a velvet seat, the Daily Star reports.

Sue described the film as “so good” and happily shared pictures from the evening with her 399,000 Instagram followers.

The happily married couple maintain a strong relationship by making sure they set aside some time for themselves.

In April this year they soaked in the glory of the Lancashire coastline during a stay at the Midland hotel.

Last month the family jumped into two campervans and headed off to Scotland on holiday.

They posted lots of pictures and videos of their journey and activities on Instagram.

The children can be seen enjoying ice creams, a BBQ, playing on the park and spending time in the sand pit.

The majority of the Radford family live together in a former care home – the doting parents plus 18 of their kids and granddaughter Ophelia.

The other kids that live in the house are Jack, 23; Daniel, 21; Luke, 20; Millie, 19; Katie, 18; James, 17; Ellie, 15; Aimee, 14; Josh, 13; Max, 11; Tillie, 10; Oscar, nine; Casper, eight; Hallie, six; Phoebe, five; Archie, three, Bonnie, two; and baby Heidie.

Eldest sprogs Chris, 31, Sophie 26, and Chloe, 25, have freed up a bit of space at the house by flying the nest.
