The Mirror’s tactical voting guide is to ensure the Tories that have wrecked Britain over the last 14 years are finally outed on Thursday.

Voters will get to pass judgment on 14 years of Conservative government - an era that has left the country on its knees. Britain needs a radical reset and that can only mean a Labour government.

But in key marginal seats we are urging Labour and Lib Democrat supporters to defy their normal political instincts and to form an anti-Tory alliance. So if you’re in an area where your party can’t win, simply vote for the other side.

Lib Dem leader Ed Davey urged: “We know the Tories will do anything to cling to power, pumping millions of pounds from their mega-rich donors into seats that are on a knife edge, in a last-ditch attempt to cling on to power. This is an ABC election, anyone but the Conservatives.

"And in many seats across the country, the Liberal Democrats are in second place and in pole position to defeat the Conservatives. So I have a message to Labour supporters in these seats: lend us your vote on July 4th, to help deliver the change the country is crying out for.”

Carol Vorderman said voters have the chance to “change our country for a generation” by voting tactically on Thursday.

The TV star, who is behind website stopthetories.vote, said: “We have a political opportunity of a lifetime. If we coordinate our tactical vote we can push the Tories into third place and the Lib Dems will form the official opposition. This will change the conversation and our country for a generation. We’ll have hope again.

“Up to 45% of people said they are prepared to vote tactically to rid ourselves of the Tories. I hope you’re one of them. Voting tactically means lending your vote to a party which perhaps isn’t your first choice, simply to get the result you want… we have to tactically vote right now as it’s the only system we have.”

GetVoting.org has developed a tool to help. Enter your postcode below and it will show you which party to vote for to have the biggest impact on the final result.

Use the handy widget to check your seat or read our guide. By following our plan, voters could see a huge Labour landslide and many Tory cabinet ministers lose their seats.
