Labour are on course to win a massive majority in the General Election as an exit poll predicted Keir Starmer would sweep to power.

The poll, conducted by experts using voter data, suggests Labour could win an astonishing 410 seats, with the Tories reduced to 131. If the results are borne out, Mr Starmer will be the first Labour PM since 2010 - and the Conservatives will be decimated, forced to retire to the opposition benches.

By tomorrow you will likely have a new MP, as scores of Tories decided not to run again - and many more look expected to lose their seats. Away from the two main parties, the Liberal Democrats are predicted to swell their numbers to 61, their best result in a century, while Nigel Farage's Reform UK appear to have hoovered up Tory votes with 13 seats.

But it looks like a bad night for the SNP, whose support has collapsed north of the border. The once dominant party could be reduced from 48 MPs to just 10.

Recriminations are likely to begin immediately for Mr Sunak, who looks set to lead his party to the worst result in its history. His surprise announcement of a July poll backfired spectacularly, and his error-laden campaign has included a rain-drenched speech announcing the date, through the D-Day debacle as he left Normandy early to record a TV interview.
