KFC has launched a new meal deal that includes a main, drink and crisps for £5.49.

Fried chicken fans can choose from the Kentucky Mayo Twister Wrap or a Fillet Burger for their main, and Walkers MAX crisps or a Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie for their snack. The lunchtime offering is available Monday to Friday until 3pm.

In a new update on its website, KFC said: "You might love a KFC for lunch as much as we do, but during a work break? Good news! KFC is now workplace appropriate, for when finger lickin’ is not. Sure, we’re famous for our buckets and sharing meals, but we get it – sometimes you just need to grab and go.

"Whether you need a quick bite on the move or a sit-down snack, reward your taste buds with a super portable lunch deal at an awesome price. No mess, no stress. Just an amazing meal deal from £5.49 (weekdays only and until 3pm)."

KFC isn't the only fast food chain to announce a new lunch offering, with Domino's announcing plans to launch a new £4 meal deal. The deal will include smaller items from the menu, like pizzas, wraps and cookies. In Greggs, you can get a slice of pizza and cold drink from £3.50, with its most expensive lunch offering costing from £4.95 for a hot sandwich, wedges and drink. Prices vary depending on your location.

It comes after KFC announced last October that it has cut ties with Deliveroo. Instead, KFC will be "focusing its efforts" on Uber Eats, Just Eat and its own delivery channel. A KFC spokesperson told The Mirror at the time: “KFC has confirmed that it will be parting ways with Deliveroo, so from October 26, 2023 customers will no longer be able to order its finger lickin’ fried chicken on the Deliveroo platform. However, KFC will still be available through Just Eat, Uber Eats and on KFC Delivery – or by visiting a KFC restaurant in-person.”
