This particular team are the worst of the worst.
It's been a few years since we got the critically-maligned Suicide Squad from Fury director David Ayer, featuring the likes of Will Smith as Deadshot and, of course, Margot Robbie as fan-favourite Harley Quinn.
Despite the poor critical reception, Suicide Squad was a financial success and we will be getting a follow-up instalment to the DC Comics film, however, this time it is with a new director.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn will now be the man at the helm of the villainous team.
So, with the imaginative title of The Suicide Squad, what does Mr Gunn have in store for us?
And just where does Idris Elba fit into all of this?
Here's everything you need to know about The Suicide Squad.
The Suicide Squad release date
The Suicide Squad is released in UK cinemas on August 6, 2021.
The film has already been shot and wrapped filming in February this year.
Hopefully there will be no Covid-19-related potholes on the road to its release.

Others not expected to return are Cara Delevigne as Enchantress/June Moone and Jared Leto as The Joker.
The Suicide Squad director
During the period in which he was fired by Disney from his role as director of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, James Gunn was hired by Warner Bros. to take on directorial duties on the sequel to the film by David Ayer.
Gunn has since been re-hired by Disney for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but will complete work on The Suicide Squad first.
The director will also wrote the script alongside comic book writer John Ostander.
The Suicide Squad plot
At present we have little no details on the plot, but the film has been described as less of a sequel and more of a "soft-reboot".
Whatever that means.
The crew look set for their most dangerous mission yet with a host of new characters for viewers to enjoy.
