Its good to have the boys back.

The action-packed new trailer for the next instalment in the Bad Boys series, entitled Bad Boys for Life, shows off stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence getting into bigger scrapes than ever before.

The film sees that Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) has finally become a police inspector, while Mike Lowrey (Smith) is in the middle of a midlife crisis.

However, the pair are forced to come together once again as a fierce Romanian mob boss, whose brother they defeated, launches a revenge plan on them just as the pair plan to retire at last.

Footage in the trailer shows the pair in a high-speed car ride, whilst also making a High School Musical reference: "Ammo is a High School Musical boy band with guns".

This seems appropriate, given that the new film also features High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens as Maya “Lethal Gun” Dunsmore, alongside Vikings star Alexander Ludwig and Riverdale star Charles Melton in rolls on the team known as "Ammo".

Looks like the boys will need the back-up, as someone is hell-bent on trying to kill them.

Regardless, Marcus is keen on reminding Mike that "family is the only thing that matters, so I'm not letting you go on a suicide mission alone", before they both agree on "one last time".

Is this the end of the Bad Boys?

Bad Boys for Life is released in cinemas on January 17, 2020.
