Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has revealed he’s inundated with saucy messages from Latin ladies - and he's rebelling against people being "imprisoned by the four grey walls of Mrs Hinch".

The flamboyant interior designer is known for his trademark flowing hair and love of leather trousers, and it seems that combination is a hit with female fans on the other side of the globe.

Asked if he gets any x-rated messages online, Laurence, 56, revealed many women aren’t afraid to “slide into my DMs”.

He added: “Well, actually, the thing is, I do, but a lot of them are in foreign languages, so I don't really know what they’re saying!

“I'm quite big in Colombia, and we all know they're very oversexed!

“So I think if you look at my DMs, I suppose I could press the translate button, but I think I probably don't want to!”

But it seems it’s not just Columbian women he’s got hot under the collar.

The star - who’s been happily married to wife Jackie for more than three decades - says a British TV presenter recently admitted she had a sex dream about him.

He added: “I was talking to a very august television presenter lady, who shall remain nameless, who admitted to the fact that she had a sex dream about me!

“We didn't actually consummate anything, but it was a lovely romantic, very kind of a wooing moment.

“It was very sexy, up until the point where I said to her, 'Okay, well, just hang on, I better let Jackie know because she's in the car downstairs.'

“And this particular television person just went, 'Right, well that was it. The mood just completely, absolutely went!'

“I think that happens quite a lot, I think they might go, 'Oh, leather trousers,' and then think, 'I'll leave him to Jackie. It's fine. She obviously knows how to handle him. I'm not sure I could.'

“I think that the idea sounds quite straightforward, but then me turning up with 17 steamer trunks going, 'Ta-da, daddy’s home,' the reality would just be like, 'Oh my God, too much!'

And the interior designer turned TV presenter is now on a one-man mission to inject colour and craziness into homes around the country, hoping his fans will rebel against the “four grey walls of Mrs Hinch”.

He said: “There's been sort of disengagement, kind of a slight disenfranchisement, from home decorating, up to the pandemic.

“We were very bullied by the estate agents, and by the Marie Kondos and the Mrs Hinches of the world, to grey it all down.

“And of course, lockdown just meant everybody wanted to do things that were deeply personal, and deeply fun, deeply expressive of who they were.

“The pandemic proved to everybody that actually your home isn't just a pile of cash. Your home is shelter. Your home is an enormous financial investment, but also a phenomenal, phenomenal, emotional investment.

“And actually, people felt imprisoned by the four grey walls of Hinch, and they really did feel that somehow, 'What’s happened to me? Why am I now surrounded by this palette of meh?'

“People want something different, just look at the paint sales, it’s all colour. Sales of wallpaper have gone through the roof.

“I love the fact that people are enjoying where they live so much more. Or, they're doing something about it.

“We should be a lot happier, and one of the big indicators of that kind of happiness is a nation that is decorating its home in a way that reflects its personality.”

Lawrence first met his wife Jackie after being set up on a blind date and the pair married in 1989.

They recently revealed how their children and grandchildren moved in to their Cotswolds home during the pandemic.

And having multi-generations under one roof has been a mood killer, with Laurence and Jackie having to steal sexy moments in a downstairs cupboard to keep the romance alive.

But now the world is opening back up, the loved-up couple is planning to make the most of time away from their kids.

Asked if he was planning a naughty weekend away for them, he laughed: “A naughty month is what’s needed!

“She's literally full-time gran, as you can imagine, glamour grandma, with the three of them.

“I'm really looking forward to being able to have a really nice proper holiday with my missus later on in the year.”

For now, Laurence has work to do after signing up to appear at The Ideal Home Show at Olympia London this month.

The designer will be showcasing all his top tips to help Brits spruce up their homes this summer.

  • The Ideal Home Show, in partnership with NatWest, the world’s longest-running home and interiors exhibition, will return to Olympia London from Friday 11 to Sunday, March 27 2022. Laurence will be at the show on Friday March 11 and Saturday March 12. For more information and tickets, please visit idealhomeshow.co.uk
