He certainly delivered with a bicycle kick beauty with his country on the precipice and about to tumble head-first into the black hole of tournament elimination.
After turning 21 on Saturday, he made a big weekend complete - and it wasn't just his stunning goal that grabbed the attention, but what happened next. His groin grab celebration was hot topic on social media after as a full-time on-the-pitch row between the two sides made headlines.
His post-match comments also didn't go down well with many. Taking another press conference poke at the "negativity" of a fan and pundit "pile on" despite England's desperate performance levels this summer, he certainly isn't just letting his feet do the talking. 'Crude gesture'
The midfielder came up with a 95th-minute leveller to end their opponents' hopes of an upset in the last 16 at the Euros but as he he walked backed ahead of the restart, Jude grabbed his groin and appeared to look towards the Slovakian bench.
But the star denied claims it was aimed at the opposition bench and quickly clarified it was an "an inside joke with close friends".
England's saviour explained on social media: "An inside joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game. Nothing but respect for how that Slovakia team played tonight."
Young love
The Real Madrid star is reportedly in a relationship with Dutch model Laura Celia Valk - although he has yet to confirm the speculation.
It's not just on the field where things are looking up for Bellingham. He has reportedly invited the 25-year-old to his luxurious Spanish home multiple times, and she's said to have stayed over after jetting in from Amsterdam.
The couple has tried to keep their budding romance low-key, but the stunning beauty seems to have let the cat out of the bag. According to The Sun, she spilled the beans about their relationship during a photoshoot, and by the end of the session, most people were aware of their romantic involvement.
Family circle of trust
As the footballer started his climb to superstardom, it became very clear very quickly that he was fuelled by his family.
With the help of his dad Mark, he shunned approaches from agents to broker his future from a young age - leaving things in his very capable hands. But it's not just his proud father, a former sergeant with West Midlands Police, who has played a massive part in his life.
Beloved mum Denise, who works in HR, headed to Germany alongside her son to help him settle into his new life at Dortmund when he sealed a move from Birmingham City as a 16-year-old. "The role my mum is playing is massive," Jude said at his Real Madrid unveiling. "I think at the minute it is probably the biggest role of anyone, even probably more than my coaches and managers."
While Jude has enjoyed unprecedented success already, his younger brother Jobe has blazed his own trail in the EFL. Signing for Sunderland he's been tipped to move to the Premier League this summer and dreams of joining his sibling on the international stage.
Celebration changes!
We saw something a little different on Sunday night.
After cupping his ear, spreading his arms wide to soak up the cheers and doing a knee slide, the midfielder was joined by Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold for a choreographed celebration. Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold took to one knee while facing each other before holding up one hand over their faces to create a mask effect and then sharing a handshake.
The celebration went down well among England fans on social media – and Bellingham later explained what it meant to the BBC. “When we play wolf, one of the staff loves that face when he doesn’t have a clue what’s going on,” he said. “So that was kind of a little group celebration for the wolf.”
We're more used to seeing him holding his arms wide open and aloft, cool and calculated. Speaking to RMTV earlier in the season, Bellingham said: "The truth is that I don’t know exactly where it comes from. I started doing it in Birmingham and from there I have continued it but there is no reason. It is a pride that children imitate me."
