Talk has already turned to Glastonbury's 2025 headliners before this year's event has even begun, with rumours swirling.

Eminem is being tipped to headline the iconic festival's Pyramid Stage next year. Co-organiser Emily Eavis is said to have tried and failed to get the rap icon to play the world-famous music festival before. However, an insider has claimed Eminem's epic comeback means there is now a chance he could sit top of the bill next year.

The Lose Yourself hitmaker could be persuaded to head to Worthy Farm in 2025. This year, the festival is being headlined by Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA. Speaking about Eminem's potential slot, a source said: “It’s been a long time coming but finally, after years of trying, Emily could be about to get her wish. It’s by no means a done deal but with a successful comeback in motion a huge headline slot next year makes sense."

“I’m sure everyone behind the scenes is willing things to work out," they told The Sun. Eminem recently shot to the top of the charts with Houdini from his upcoming LP The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). Fans have also started to talk about who they want to headline the iconic slots.

Posting on an online festival forum, one fan said: "I think Billy Joel is a good shout. He's someone I originally would have put down for the legend slot, but if they want to try and carry on from the potential run of McCartney, Elton and Madonna then Billy Joel would be the next logical step imo."

Another added: "I've been banging the Billy Joel drum since seeing him in Hyde Park earlier this year. Absolutely fantastic show, that'd work far better at headline than legend, with more tunes I knew than I expected/realised going in." Someone else picked their top headliners and commented: " Taylor Swift, Sam Fender, Billy Joel."

A fourth predicted: " Rihanna / Liam Gallagher /Depeche Mode," while one fan chimed in: "I think probably Rihanna has to be in the conversation." Emily recently discussed next year's lineup as she was asked if she had any plans. She told the BBC's Sidetracked podcast: "Not yet, we are talking to people.

"The thing with line-ups is, you think its looking one way and then it changes. So at the moment I would say no, but I have a vague idea in my head of who is going to be doing it next year. Then we might do a fallow year after that, we are due a fallow year." She added: "The fallow year is important because it gives the land a rest, and it gives the cows a chance to be out for longer and reclaim their land.

"And it gives everyone time to switch off. And I think it's quite good not to be seen to be cashing in. At the best time when we could just rake it all in, to go 'no' is so important, that ethos, now more than ever. Sometimes you just need to calm it all down and come back with a renewed excitement and enthusiasm." The last official fallow year was 2018, but the festival was also cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic and had "enforced fallow" years.
