Principal Researcher

About

I am a researcher working in the Azure Research – Microsoft Research (opens in new tab) group at Microsoft. I completed my Ph.D from School of Computing (opens in new tab) at National University of Singapore where I was awarded the Dean’s Graduate Research Excellence award. My research interests include different aspects of systems security and privacy.  My current work aims at quantifying information leakage in machine learning models and designing solutions that mitigate the leakage while preserving utility of the model. In relation to this problem, I have been working on various topics such as membership inference, differential privacy, causal learning, and transfer learning for vision and language models.
