The financial fortunes of Verizon’s pay-TV and high-speed business units continue to trend in opposite directions.
The telecom April 22 announced it concluded the first fiscal quarter (ended March 31) with 2.88 million Fios video subscribers, down 280,000 subscribers from 3.1 million subs during the previous-year period.
The telecom added 222,000 internet subscribers to end the quarter with more than 7 million subs, compared with 6.8 million at the end of the previous-year period.
“Our strong results show that our team is delivering. Our performance in the first quarter sets us up for a successful 2024,” CEO Hans Vestberg said in a statement.
