Integrated Support Services is offering an opportunity for a qualified individual at the WG-07 level to serve on a Temporary appointment.  This individual will perform the role of Motor Vehicle Operator, WG-5703-7.  

Integrated Support Services (ISS) is part of The Library of Congress enabling infrastructure.    ISS provides support to the Library community in the areas of Facility Services, Operations, Logistics Services, Health and Safety Services and Customer Experience.

Motor Vehicle Operators within the Logistics Services division of ISS provide support in the following manner:

  • Transportation and delivery services
  • Ensuring maintenance of vehicle(s)
  • Loading and unloading passengers and/or cargo
  • Professional interaction and confidentiality

The Motor Vehicle Operator’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Driving passengers and/or cargo in all weather, on extended or irregular schedules, and out of town
  • Maintaining the vehicle(s) in safe operating condition
  • Preparing reports related to trip operations and repair costs
  • Providing safe transportation and delivery services within strict time schedules

  1. Hold a current CDL (P), valid driver’s license and be knowledgeable of regulations governing the operation of federally funded vehicles
  2. Ability to maintain awareness of all aspects of unit operations
  3. Ability to work in all types of weather, irregular or extended hours, and on short notice
  4. Ability to perform preventative vehicle maintenance and schedule repairs when necessary

This temporary appointment is for 180-days and is open to all. The work schedule is flextime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, situational telework may be available.
