This position is located in the Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagement Office (CLLE). CLLE brings the Library’s collections to life and deepens impact through educational and cultural programming, visitor engagement, and partnerships transforming visitors into regular users of the Library. This position serves as a Deputy Chief of Informal Learning and Engagement and works under the direction of the Chief of Informal Learning within CLLE in all matters within areas of responsibility and functions with full authority as delegated.  The purpose of this position is to develop and manage the Library’s onsite and online programming for children, teens, families, including the operation and the development of informal learning programs and spaces. The incumbent conducts outreach efforts to engage audiences, managing programs and special events which may include family days; poet, author, and illustrator visits; and programs that are webcast to reach a broader audience. Often, the programs emphasize civic engagement, aspects of American culture, and careers.
