A community-informed threat framework and tools for the security and assurance of AI-enabled systems.
About us
MITRE ATLAS™ is a globally accessible, living knowledge base of adversary tactics and techniques based on real-world attack observations and realistic demonstrations from AI red teams and security groups. There are a growing number of vulnerabilities in AI-enabled systems, as the incorporation of AI increases the attack surfaces of existing systems beyond those of traditional cyber-attacks. We developed ATLAS to raise awareness of these unique and evolving vulnerabilities, as the global community starts to incorporate AI into more systems. ATLAS is modeled after the MITRE ATT&CK® framework and its tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) are complementary to those in ATT&CK. As our ATLAS community better understood AI security concerns, our work quickly started overlapping with the broader AI assurance space, which includes AI equitability, interpretability, reliability, robustness, safety, and needs for privacy enhancement. As a result, our knowledge and incident sharing work has evolved to incorporate more of these concerns in both AI security and assurance as well. ATLAS continues to evolve through our collaboration with international AI leaders in industry, academia, and government as an open-source tool for the broader AI & security communities.

Our ATLAS team is proud of yesterday's launch of the MITRE AI Assurance & Discovery Lab! We won't solve the AI assurance and security problem in silos. That's why we’re collaborating and making impact with an incredible international community of government, industry, and academia. #MITREatlas #AIsecurity #AIassurance
The White House is encouraging federal agencies to accelerate their use of #AI tools to better fulfil their missions, but how do we assure that these systems are safe, secure, and trustworthy? Our new AI Assurance and Discovery Lab will help find and mitigate critical risks in AI enabled systems that need to operate in increasingly complex, uncertain, and high-stakes environments. http://spklr.io/6041oEU9
