O jornal diário português Público tinha dificuldade em alcançar o público mais jovem. Veja um resumo em 3 passos de como diversificou a base de leitores e o conteúdo nos últimos 10 anos. Passo 1: em 2011, o Público lançou o P3, um site de notícias direcionado para os leitores mais jovens. O P3 fala diretamente com os leitores (tratando-os por "tu") e cobre notícias sobre alterações climáticas, direitos LGBTQ e outros tópicos importantes para as gerações Y e Z. Passo 2: em 2019, o Público lançou o Megafone, uma secção de Op/Ed no P3 na qual pede aos leitores que enviem artigos, fotos e vídeos. Os leitores mais jovens do P3 adoraram ter uma voz: 30% do tráfego do site provém agora do Megafone. Passo 3: o Público simplificou o processo de envio e revisão de artigos por email do Megafone. Trabalhou com a GNI para lançar em abril de 2023 o Mega Megafone, uma ferramenta de envio online que orienta as pessoas ao longo do processo de publicação, poupando tempo à equipa. Resultados: desde o seu lançamento em abril, o Mega Megafone recebeu cerca de 500 artigos de leitores, tendo sido publicados 32 por mês.
