SHEINer Spotlight – Daisy McKenna

SHEINer Spotlight – Daisy McKenna

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background:

My name is Daisy. I am originally from Providence, Rhode Island (east coast girl!) but have been living in Los Angeles, California for almost a decade! I got married in 2020 and have a rescue dog named Rocky. I have worked in the fashion industry for over a decade, starting from major fashion retailers to transitioning to smaller fashion start-ups and finally landing at SHEIN, the best company to date!

What is your role at SHEIN and what does your day-to-day work look like?

I am currently the studio manager of our Los Angeles location. My day consists of communicating with our global partners, specifically in China, and setting up creative ecomm as well as lookbook shoots. Each month we shoot between 80-100 different shoots for our design teams. We have a variety of designers that we work with, from MEN to SXY to curve to Y2K. Any theme you can think of, my team and I have been able to work together to bring it to life. We pride ourselves in trying to bring fresh and new ideas to our brand.

Why did you choose to work at SHEIN?

I chose to work at SHEIN because of the brand and its growth. We have the opportunity to appeal to people from all over the world, regardless of their background or demographic. Being able to bring affordable fashion to people globally is a huge appeal.

Tell us about a project that you found particularly interesting:

One of the largest challenges faced this year was finding a new location for our studio that would be able to allow me to reach my goals of expanding each of my teams in order to continue to grow. We were able to find a location in the arts district of Los Angeles, which has significantly helped us in attracting new talent for each of my teams as well as attracting new models for each of our design teams.

What do you think is the most important skill a SHEINer should have, and why?

I think adaptability is an important trait to have in any career but especially for the work we do here at SHEIN. Our company is constantly growing, which is why it is one of the most successful companies in the fashion industry. Because of our growth, we are always looking for ways to become more efficient as well as creative so we can constantly bring newness to our consumers.

Any interesting stories or memorable moments from your time here at SHEIN?

Working at SHEIN has given me the opportunity to shoot lookbook campaigns at some of the most iconic locations in Los Angeles, including the James Goldstein house in Beverly Hills! When we shot there, it felt like we were shooting in Jurassic Park. Some of the biggest publications and celebrities have shot there so to be able to showcase our brand in the same location was a dream!

Describe the SHEIN in one word, and why?

Creative! Everything we do on a daily basis has creative elements, regardless of which team you may be a part of. We are not just creative with our photoshoots but also in how we are able to work together with different teams in the US as well as globally. We can come together and create beautiful work, even when our counterparts speak different languages. I love being able to work with people in different timezones, cities, countries and cultures.

Hello. I used to work for a while in a SHEIN company until a security staff was shouting at me during a break time, and after the break time I went with them to an agency Randstad staff who was misleading me that I don`t work there anymore because they had sent an email in a previous week. The email hasn`t been sent in the previous week, and the agency Randstad, and the security company can be proven an organized crime with CBA from a city of Warsaw, and SB agents who have false documents who did a murder at least once with psychiatrists in Poland. Except of that, a SHEIN company in Magnice near a city of Wrocław can have employed a programmer, and an engineer based on a technology. The new security company can be employed because a theft of an amount of monies happened to me from a cipher locker.
