NIO Power and FAW Hongqi Open Charging Networks to Each Other

On June 24, Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd. (“NIO Power”) and FAW Hongqi Car Sales Co., Ltd. (“FAW Hongqi”) officially went into partnership on charging networks. This is the first project put into effect after NIO and FAW Group signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement on May 21 and is aimed at offering Hongqi users convenient charging experiences with the expansive charging network and responsive enquiry services.

According to the agreement, NIO’s charging network will be fully accessible to FAW Hongqi users. Starting from June 24, Hongqi users can open the HONGQI App and enjoy a smart experience throughout the process from checking for the locations, rates, status, availability and other information of NIO chargers in real-time across China, to scanning the QR code, recharging the car, and paying for the service, a comprehensive upgrade of charging experiences and efficiency.

Since its inception, NIO has been investing in battery charging and swapping technology upgrade and product R&D, and developing power infrastructure while sharing it with the industry. On June 13, the first batch of NIO Power Swap Stations 4.0 and 640kW Ultra-Fast Liquid-Cooled Chargers were launched, updating recharging experiences to make it more convenient than refueling for users of NIO, ONVO and NIO’s charging and swapping partners.

As of June 24, NIO has 2,435 Power Swap Stations and 22,705 chargers in China, among which 804 Stations and 1,666 Power Chargers are located along expressways, making NIO the automaker featuring the most battery swap stations and chargers in the country with over 80% of its electricity consumed by users of other brands. To date, NIO has joined hands with Hongqi, DEEPAL, AION, IM, Zeekr, Lotus, Cadillac, Buick, XPENG and other automotive brands on charging networks.
