Dreams really do come true!

When I was a little girl, I used to dream about creating a place where people could
come together to share ideas, be creative and impact their world in a positive way.
As I’ve grown up, I’ve come to realize many people share that very same vision!

This desire has lead me to work in the entrepreneurship and economic development field, volunteer in bringing many amazing community projects to life and now it has lead me to create my own business; L7 Opportunities Consulting.

L7 was created out of a call to empower people and organizations to dream big and propel the next generation of Nova Scotia’s economy. It’s my belief that together we can collectively shift the province into greater greatness (might be a little bias, but I think Nova Scotia is already pretty great)!

To that end, I was delighted when presented with the opportunity to help breathe life into Mashup Weekend! It is one incarnation of that very thing I dreamt of as a little girl; a space where people come together to share ideas, be creative and impact their world in a positive way.This past November, powered by Mashup Lab and the genius that is Andrew Button, three communities were given an opportunity to come together in a way that was inspiring, activating and amplifying. It was truly an experience to be cherished.

As written by the lovely editrix Erin Casey, Mashup Weekend is best described as "a bunch of interesting people with different strengths, viewpoints, and skills all showing up on Friday night and working in teams on amazing business ideas until Sunday afternoon, when they get praised, prized, and go home for a really long nap."

In a lot of ways, it was an amplified journey into entrepreneurship. Businesses were born, friends were made and most impact-fully- mindsets were shifted from "I don't know, maybe I can't" to "I still don't know BUT I'm doing it anyway!" Watching people transform into the realm of possibility and BELIEVING in those possibilities makes my entire body tingle with goosebumps! Thank you for existing Mashup Lab!
