Caitlin Papageorge: Running for a Cause

Caitlin Papageorge: Running for a Cause

At JCG, we imagine a world where doing good is part of doing business. That's why we're so proud to highlight the impactful work our associates are doing in their very own communities and the causes that are meaningful to them.

Our J.Crew Store Communications Director, Caitlin Papageorge is running the London Marathon for a cause. Hear about her close friend’s Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, and how she’s using her passions to make a difference below:

"This April, I’ll be running the London Marathon as part of the MS Society team, and in support of one of my best friends who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last year. The MS Society funds vital research for both the causes and treatments of Multiple Sclerosis.

I met Colleen at our college orientation, and we have been best friends ever since. She has faced this diagnosis and all of the unknown that comes with it, with grace, strength, and a sense of humor that is the true core of our friendship.

For those who know me, they know running is a huge part of my life. It is my therapy. It keeps me grounded; it has helped me through times when I’ve struggled personally and it has also simply added more joy to the good times in my life. But, I also recognize that it is a blessing to be able to have this outlet.

I am beyond honored to use something that has brought me comfort and joy, as a means of supporting one of my best friends through a battle that makes any training cycle look like nothing. This race will be my 19th marathon, and already the most emotional journey so far"
