Business woman & biochemist - interview by Chemistry magazine

Kemia-lehti, Chemistry magazine interviewed me for series of “Chemistry and Women” introducing Finnish women chemists from different fields. I am an example of a business leader with experience from various businesses from biofuels and wood products to lab equipment, diagnostics, leasing concepts and sustainability - yet, proud of my strong scientific background and PhD in biochemistry.

Chemistry is fascinating and versatile. It is possible to start from R&D and successfully head to international sales, marketing, and leadership positions in different businesses. Combining scientific studies with vast leadership education has enabled me to successfully lead and grow multimillion international businesses. And together with a great team anything is possible with we-will-do-it mindset!

I hope that my story encourages students to start studying chemistry. I also want to encourage especially women to bravely pursue opportunities that come along, and search for them. I myself am currently looking for a new international growth business which needs an inspirational & entrepreneurial leader to build a success story. As a new member of Board Professionals Finland belonging to European Women on Boards (EWoB), being a board member in growth business would also be fascinating!
