While bulk emailing is a great way to reach a large target audience with your important marketing messages but for most this can be seen as spam or off-putting. That is something that a business cannot risk as it can tarnish its branding. There is a way to send bulk emails without tarnishing your brand and with high deliverability. 

What Are Bulk Emails?

Bulk emails are when you send a single email campaign to a large group all at once. Sending emails out in this fashion is great for getting a message out quickly and in a cost-effective manner. Bulk emails are great for sending out marketing messages and business announcements. This helps marketers to send real-time messages in mass without having to create multiple emails. 

What’s The Difference Between Bulk Email and Spam?

Bulk emails are sent with the recipient’s permission. These people are usually subscribers to an email list or have added their email to a contact list. Spam is considered junk mail and is something you do not want your bulk emails to get flagged as. Spam can be dangerous. Safeguards have been enacted by email providers like Google and Outlook in order to combat this.  In order to not be flagged as spam bulk emails need to be CAN-SPAM compliant. The CAN-SPAM Act is a set of federal anti-spam laws that establishes requirements for commercial messages.

Here are some #tips to help you create bulk emails that stay out of the spam folder, are valuable to your outbound messaging strategy, and are also lawful.

Tip #1. Clean Up Your Email List

Before beginning, always update and organize your email list. A mistake to avoid is entering your entire contact list into the recipient line. A very important step in bulk emailing is making sure the recipients have active emails, are active subscribers, and are interested in your companies content. In order to make sure your bulk emails do not end up in spam folders, you need to have good open rates and high deliverability rates. This is why scrubbing your email on a regular basis is a great habit to get into. Before getting rid of recipients completely, make sure to reach out one last time and see if you can get them reengaged.
