Application of Analytics to church context

In this time I have studied various disciplines (taking courses, analyzing scientific articles and specialized books): Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Digital Marketing, Evidence-Based Management, Financial Risks, Finance, Strategic Marketing, Macroeconomics, among others. And at the same time I have continued reading the Bible and other Christian books, meeting with some friends to talk about God and his principles, among other things.

Given this, I have realized that there are analytical initiatives that churches at a global level could develop in order to help their members to overcome the different crises they are going through, contribute to the community in which they operate and help them living a life that honors God in this highly digital context.

To do this, they must create ecosystems that allow capturing, processing and obtaining value from the use of various types of data.

Here I share some projects to develop:

1. Assignment of members to small groups or squads using Analytics

A congregation can organize its participants through tribes (or networks) and squads. Given that there are people who get on better with certain types of people, it is possible to make a model that helps to make a leader-member match.

2. Churn and Loyalty Models to predict when a congregation member wants to desert from the Christian way in order to take action to help him.

3. Development of programs focused on meeting the needs of the congregation based on mixed research (quali / quanti). Applications at the community level and at squad level. Tested programs focused on: taking care of marriage, overcoming vices, among others, can be some examples.

4. Artificial Intelligence aimed at suppressing digital and non-digital sexual content from computers, cell phones, televisions, etc. Research shows (covenanteyes.com) the harm that this type of content causes to people. To cope with it, it is possible to use the power of deep learning to counteract its effects.

5. Crownfunding applied to community, evangelism and arts projects.

There is so much talent in people that it needs to be connected to financial resources. This initiative seeks to support and encourage the gifts of the congregation members.

6. Mathematical optimization of economic and non-economic funds raised by the congregation focused on maximizing the expected impact on evangelism and social aid

7. Sentiment analysis + Feedback capture process to understand how the different messages, events, etc. transmitted by the church and its participants are being perceived in order to constantly improve them.

8. Improvement of the user experience when accessing the website, app, going to church, etc., solving the main pains and improving the moments of truth present in the main interactions. These are some of the edges in which a church could work, and although they are generic to other types of organizations, they are intended to provide a much more personalized and user-centered offer of value.

I hope these ideas contribute to help people in different ways.

Values are the fundamental pillars of society and technology must help spread them
