Mom is watching TV on the couch.

Baby bro is next to her on his laptop.

It's cloudy — 73 degrees here in New York.

Let's talk about 3 tips for improving yourself.

------------------------------

Ever wondered how to get better?

It depends on what you want to get better at.

Here are 3 tips for improving yourself:

1. Asking yourself this question: What can I do a better job on?

Why ask this question? Two reasons.

First, this helps you reflect on what to work on next.

Second, it keeps you honest.

2. Setting SMART goals.

SMART goals help you with being specific.

Here is what SMART stands for:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Relevant
  • Time-oriented

You want to be specific on what your goals are.

For example:

“I want to go to 2 farmer's markets per week and go to the gym at least once a week."

The sentence is a good goal because you have metrics.

Metrics to see if you are on track.

Use SMART goals as a guide to your goals.

3. Find people who you can be a great mentee for.

There is advice everywhere.

Mentors want to mentor people who take action.

I recommend finding posts or emails you subscribed to.

Take action on the advice.

Email or message the person with the results.

Be a great mentee and follow up when you can.

P.S. What tips do you have for improving yourself?
