The #communications and #dissemination work within our project is led by the Nature Based Solutions Institute. The NBSI team is headed by Cecil Konijnendijk. In this interview we ask Cecil more about the project and its focus on Nature-based Therapies (NbTs). "We have known for a while that NbTs are important and can have a real impact on health and wellbeing but this project will help us scale up this knowledge. I also think that RESONATE will enhance awareness about NbTs among policy makers and medical professionals at different levels." https://lnkd.in/e8jfJmEJ #NbT #publichealth #research #ResonateHorizonEurope #natureforhealth

Spent my Easter finishing this book. It is so relevant to IHSN current business strategic core—“developing the continuity of medical care with private healthcare providers in Shanghai”. It would reduce a great burden of mislocating hospital primary resource, and provide more different continue cares according to patients’needs. It consequently reduce the expense of healthcare for households in life span. Surgical Prehabitation for cancer patients #QuestPregab , Sport Physio Rehabilitation for youth and after surgeries #OS these particularly suit well for international collaboration. Question is: WHO could witness the value of such continuity of medical cares to patients? Answer is: GP, only GP. In China, local provincial authority take NHS GP system as a great example and try to build more community care, and encourage private investment in this medical sector. Quite a few new rehabilitation centre built in Shanghai. Whilst, seems NHS take less importance of GP or gradually enforce such soft skills to a rigid working hour accounted KPI box. #privatehealthcare #internationalhealthcare #telemedicine

AUSTRALIAN TELETRIAL PROGRAM – ACCESS TO CLINICAL TRIALS, CLOSER TO HOME Narelle Mullan, Project Lead from the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Teletrials Program visited the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) of the The University of Western Australia to provide an overview of the Australian Teletrials Program (ATP). This program supports regional health sites and research teams to establish clinical trial clusters, addressing the inequity in access to trials for country patients. It leverages health professional education programs and digital technology to increase participation in clinical trials for rural, regional and remote Australians. The Australian Teletrial Program is supported by funding from the Australian Government under the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). The Program has been funded $75.2 million over five years to bring clinical trials closer to home for patients in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Speak to your doctor about clinical trials, or visit the Australian Clinical Trials website to find a trial and to hear patient stories 👉 https://lnkd.in/gUX_8n8E Pictured: WACRH Director Sandra Thompson and WACRH Project Lead Narelle Mullan. #ruralhealth #healthcare #ruralandremote #clinicaltrials #teletrial #teletrialprogram #MRFF #rural #research #ruralresearch

Kathleen Ross This is not true statement that you have limited number of health care workers. Your health system is descriminating with IMG’s. You have many IMG’s who passed LMCC and worked as General Practitioners in back home for years but here you are ready to add them in system even when patients are dying in emergency rooms without treatment. Your IMG’s are working as Clinical Assisstant in many provinces and handling energencies/ active and primary care but after years there is no promise to them for independent license. You are allowing NP and PA to practice independently in rural areas but no for IMG’s. You have opened PRO/ PRA programs but just an eye wash as lot of barriers for IMG’s. Post graduation in family medicine is one of the criteria in PRO but this is introduce very late in Asian countries as After MBBS these IMG’s are considered as General Practitioners in back home and work same like FP here. You can open some bridging programs for 6 month for these IMG’s with LMCC registration and assess and train them for independent practice under limited license for 1-2 years and then promote to full license. Those who are working as CA in hospitals are very well trained in canadian healthcare system but they are ignored.
We must ensure that every Canadian can easily access primary care, either near their home or in a location convenient for them. One significant challenge we encounter is the limited number of health care workers available, highlighting the necessity for a team-based approach to care. – Dr. Kathleen Ross

#pcos wow 🤩 as a patient to have come this far is just amazing- you probably have no idea just how important this work has been for myself and all #patientadvocates. We must build on the current momentum to improve interactions with HCPs. Let’s end the #blame, #shame, #dismissal & #weightstigma while recognising the complex #psychological impact of this condition right across the #lifespan not merely in #reproductive age #women / individuals. #womenshealth #health #women #healthpsychology #lifespanhealth #pcosawareness #pcosireland
China Harrison, Chau Thien Tay, Maureen Busby, Aya Mousa, Helena Teede, and Jacky Boivin have authored a new systematic review which collates and synthesises current literature investigating challenges for people with PCOS when interacting with healthcare professionals. Four analytic themes were derived illustrating interactions were challenging when: (1) medical information (PCOS, its management) was not shared in the best way; (2) information provision and deliberation opportunities were insufficient to achieve outcomes that mattered to patients; (3) they prompt but do not support patient activation; and (4) health system level barriers (e.g., policies, guidelines) were present or made worse by healthcare professionals’ behaviour. The body of work synthesised in this review has led to inclusion of evidence-based recommendations, consensus recommendations and good practice points for refining the International Guidelines. The review is published open access, currently available as an early access pre-proof from our in-press articles now: https://lnkd.in/ex2_EgUS #RBMOreviews #FemaleReproductiveHealthAndFertility #RBMOReviews #PCOS #PolycysticOvarySyndrome #QualitativeResearch #DoctorPatientCommunication #DecisionSupport

We are thrilled to announce that, as a direct outcome of the Canberra Roundtable convened in late March and led by Emerge Australia with the support of Open Medicine Foundation Australia, the Australian government has committed funding to update the clinical guidelines for ME/CFS and Long COVID. The current clinical guidelines for ME/CFS are over 20 years old and do not reflect the latest international best practices. Updating these guidelines is a significant milestone in ensuring that patients receive the most effective and up-to-date care possible, and are not subject to dangerous practices that are now known to worsen these conditions. The new guidelines will be developed through a rigorous process spearheaded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), with thorough consultation and collaboration with all stakeholder groups over a two to three-year period. This comprehensive approach will involve input from: •Patients: Ensuring their experiences and needs are at the forefront. •Healthcare Professionals: Leveraging their frontline insights and expertise. •Experts: Incorporating the latest scientific research and global best practices. This announcement represents a monumental step forward in providing better care and support for over 250,000 Australians living with ME/CFS and the many more affected by Long COVID. We are delighted to see this commitment to improving the quality of life for these individuals through informed, compassionate, and effective medical care. We hope that this important first step acknowledges the broader support needed by a community of people who have been underserved by the healthcare system for decades and that it leads to more funding for medical research in the near future. #mecfs #pwME #pwLC #LongCOVID #clinicalguidelines

A team based approach to #healthcare is fine as long as it does not involve de-skilling and/or lead to the privatization of healthcare. More private clinics in the healthcare paradigm can not be tolerated.
