Key Words Open Key Doors... We’re currently witnessing a global transformation in hiring methodology: more and more companies are switching to a skills-first hiring process.   This approach puts greater emphasis on the value of the CV/resume’s terminology, along with potential transferable skills, both technical and soft; skills-first hiring doesn’t fixate on the academic merit of a job applicant, such as having a bachelor’s degree.   We already know the benefits of this approach to hiring, such as increasing the female talent pool, diversifying generation demographics, and promoting occupational longevity. (LinkedIn Economic Graph, 2023).   Key-Words' Role in Shifting to Skill-First Hiring:   For companies, the adoption of a clear, consistent, and Keyword-led job description, dissimilar to the description of your company’s other openings will improve applicant compatibility.   For applicants, terminology can be everything.
