On this International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, let's recommit ourselves to making material investments in the future of the LGBTQ+ community -- protecting employees, expanding access to healthcare, and eliminating the structural barriers to LGBTQ+ equality. Today, we are reminded of the countless #OutLEADERS who have dedicated their lives to fighting against bigotry and discrimination, and honor their fight to build a world that celebrates diversity and promotes equality for all. Happy Pride Month! Friendly reminder: LGBTQ+ people are here and queer all year. I know it's tempting to jump on the rainbow bandwagon during Pride Month and show your support with a rainbow flag or a colorful social media post. But the reality is, LGBTQ+ individuals face discrimination, violence, and inequality every day. As someone who identifies as queer, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions during Pride Month. On one hand, it's amazing to witness so many people come together to celebrate our community. On the other hand, it's disheartening to see the same performative allyship and rainbow-washed campaigns that overshadow the true meaning and history of Pride. Not to mention the anti-LBTQ+ legislation that’s been sweeping the country. I invite you to learn more about the true meaning and history of Pride, as well as ways you can support the LGBTQ+ community amidst legislation aimed at our rights. It's not just a month-long celebration of rainbows and parades - it's a commemoration of the brave individuals who fought for their right to exist and love freely. Pride is about honoring their legacy and continuing to advocate for justice and equality for all LGBTQ+ individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable. If you'd like to learn more about ways you can support the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities year-round, you're invited to sign-up for my free Inclusive Leadership Development Reminder Series: https://lnkd.in/eP8YSy93 #Pride #PrideMonth #InclusiveLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment #DEITraining #DiversityConsultant #BiasTraining

Leadership Development, Mediation/Conflict Transformation, Organizational Change, Systems Thinking at Big Waves
Here is the second full episode of Ripples and Rumbles with Tania Cheng! It's called Queering the Workplace: We Are Everything Everywhere All At Once, and it was a very entertaining conversation complete with props and movie analysis. Definitely not your usual leadership development conversation! 🌈 🎬 But seriously, if you are interested in bringing multi-dimensional ways of thinking and being to your work, and exploring how this can serve as an antidote to "power over" and binary thinking, this conversation will get you thinking. We talked about appreciating fluidity, playfulness, adapting to change, and ultimately bringing the lessons of “queerness” to everything we do. And of course, we talked about the best movie of 2022! 💫 And as a side note, I am putting together a short "Best of Ripples and Rumbles" video for people who want to get the highlights but don't have time to watch the full episodes. Sign up for the Big Waves newsletter (link in the comments below) to get that in your inbox in February. 👀 Also I would love to know, how do you bring the spirit of queerness into your work? #queerness #leadership #changemaker #LGBTQ Louise Pitre Ashley J. Dear Young Leader, Have you ever had to deal with people who act unruly, snobby and exclude others because they think they're better. ¶This is very common in social groups and cultural circles, where some person's usually feel superior because of money, education, or background.¶ They judge others based on things like clothes or popularity. Even on social media, the pressure is even worst, getting a million likes and followers, makes one think they're better than others. But this attitude hurts everyone. It makes people feel left out and creates divisions in society. ¶To curb it, we need to be kind, humble, and open to everyone's differences. That way, we can build a better world where everyone has a fair shot.¶ #SnobbishExclusivism #Exclusivism #Elitism #UnfairShot #ClassSociety #Superiority #TheElites #ResourceCenter #MediaHouse #OnlinePublishing #youthleadership #youngleaders #impactfulleaders Hop On This Intriguing Read On The Go, Subscribe For Free & Leave Your Thoughts.💫 https://lnkd.in/dx9BPTFg
