In 2018, over 20,000 Google employees walked out to demand fair treatment of women which was a landmark moment in employee rights. Walkouts aren’t the only form of protest. Every day, employees “check out” quietly, disengaging from their work due to feeling undervalued or unheard. But what can we do to address concerns, way before people feel unheard to the point of walking-out? - Unlock Communication: Ensure everyone feels heard and respected. Encourage open dialogue and routinely invite input. - Be Responsive: Listening isn’t enough. Take action on feedback to avoid breeding cynicism and further disengagement. - Aim Higher: Strive for a workplace where everyone can express themselves, unlocking their full potential.

Some companies view diversity recruiting as a mere formality. 📋 They focus on meeting EEOC requirements rather than genuinely seeking to hire diverse talent. 🚫 This checkbox mentality perpetuates racial bias and hinders the creation of truly inclusive workplaces. 🏢 #DiversityRecruiting #EEOCCompliance #InclusiveHiring

🌟 Ensuring Fairness and Inclusion in Your Workplace 🌟 We all recognise the importance of treating employees without discrimination, especially when it comes to protected characteristics. However, it's not uncommon for business owners to unintentionally engage in discriminatory practices. Here are some examples to be mindful of: 1. Unfair hiring practices: Avoid any form of discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics during the hiring process. 2. Pay disparities: Ensure that compensation and benefits packages are equitable across different groups, regardless of sex, age, or background. 3. Equal opportunities: Be attentive to providing equal opportunities for growth and advancement within your organisation. 4. Language and cultural considerations: Guard against treating individuals differently due to their language or cultural background. 5. Reasonable adjustments: It's imperative to consider accommodating special requirements, as failing to do so may be considered discriminatory.
