“We looked again at available footages. #Averyanov head of #GRU covert ops is attending the meeting with the #Mali delegation in the video below. But he is also at the meetings with the #CAR delegation (last one towards the wall), #Eritrea (last one next to the wall), #BurkinaFaso delegation (last one on the left).” Among the many lingering questions about the Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin’s rebellion is why Russia’s vast security apparatus was so poorly prepared for it. The #FSB, the Kremlin’s main internal security service, has long placed a heavy emphasis on “prevention” and taking aggressive steps to preempt any threats to the state before they occur. The security agency even had informants within the Wagner organization. Yet it seems to have taken no action to stop the mutiny before it started or to warn the Kremlin about Prigozhin’s plans. This Major General #Averyano is not a leader of covert ops classical profile but an “#auditor” who is going to reshape Wagner, eliminating all elements that do not fit the new objectives. There will no longer be a large entity but smaller combat units with #GRU officers in charge of monitoring “loyalties” of Capitans and financial procedures. #Wagner's settlements in #Belarus are not military bases but rather #Gulags for re-education and evaluation of Captains and middle commanders. In #Africa, a hundred of middle ranks Captains with operational capacity had been neutralized and the rest is been recycled, coopted or discarded “ à la russe”.

May we never forget the heroes and first responders as we take time to reflect the events of September 11, 2001. 8:46 AM – Flight 11 crashes into the World Trade Center’s North Tower. All passengers aboard are instantly killed, and employees of the WTC are trapped above the 91st floor. 9:03 AM – Flight 175 crashes into the WTC’s South Tower. All passengers aboard are killed instantly and so are an unknown number of people in the tower. 9:37 AM – Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon. All passengers aboard are instantly killed and so are 125 civilian and military personnel in the building. 9:59 AM – The South Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. 10:02 AM – Flight 93 crashes into an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. All passengers aboard are instantly killed. 10:28 AM – The North Tower of the World Trade Center collapses. 5:30 PM – Building 7 of the World Trade Center collapses. Here is just one hero's story.

Preliminary Details of the Large Russian Air Attack – 29 December During the early hours of 29 December, Russia launched a wave of attacks against seven cities in Ukraine. The attacks involved the use of drones, and ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles. Preliminary reports indicate that 158 different weapons were used. The cities of Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, Lviv and Konotop were all hit. The first wave of attacks consisted of thirty-six Shahid drones, predominantly launched from the north and south-east. Then, at approximately 0300, eighteen Tu-95MS strategic bombers (NATO reporting name Bear-H) took off, launching their missiles at approximately 0600. At least 90 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-launched cruise missiles were used. At approximately 0500, from the Kursk direction, Russian Tu-22M3 bombers (NATO reporting name Backfire) launched eight Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles towards targets in the central and northern regions of Ukraine. Again, at approximately 0500, the city of Kharkiv had fourteen ballistic missiles launched at it. These missiles were a mix of S-300/S-400/Iskander-M that were fired from the occupied Crimea, and the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation. At 0630 Russia launched five MiG-31K fighter jets (NATO reporting name Foxhound) from the Astrakhan region. Each of these fired a Kh-47M2, ‘Kinzhal’ missile, which has a range of 2,000 km. The Kinzhal missile is described as hypersonic. Russian Su-35 aircraft (NATO reporting name Flanker-E) launched fourteen Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and one Kh-59 cruise missile. Of the total of 158 weapons that were deployed, 114 were destroyed by various Ukrainian air-defence systems, meaning 44 got through. The overwhelming majority of the targets that were hit were civilian. https://t.me/BALUhub/7059 #ukrainewar

I’ve been lucky to work for commanders who are outstanding communicators, and Gen. Cavoli certainly fits in this category. My favourite quote from his latest talk is this: “One of the biggest results of (a simple drone) is it gives people a feeling of insecurity on the other side. It’s not just that you got hit with the drone, it’s that you didn’t hear it coming. And every time you hear a buzzing sound in the air, it fills you with dread.” Gen. Cavoli underscores the secondary cognitive effects directly linked to physical effects on the battlefield. SHAPE J10 is working to better understand these links, and to incorporate them into our defensive war fighting plans. To learn more about our ‘Deter and Defend’ plans, watch the video below, as Gen. Cavoli also describes their development and current status within the Alliance.
