Meet Shanique and Anthony Edwards Jr, the founders of EatOkra. EatOkra was born when these innovative Brooklyn transplants didn’t have the means to cook or store food. Without a stove or refrigerator in their new apartment, the husband-wife duo sought out spaces that were inviting, familiar, and brimming with the food they loved. They set out to celebrate their community, provide accessibility and amplify the flavors they cherished. Today, EatOkra stands as a tribute to African diasporic culinary traditions, fostering a thriving network of Black-owned businesses and embracing the essence of Black joy through food. Anthony and Shanique inspire us and remind us that any dream can become reality a in NYC with hard work, grit, motivation and vision ❤️ #welovenyc
