💟 It’s Purple Friday tomorrow! 💟 This Friday is Purple Friday, a day mostly known in Dutch schools and universities. On this day, students wear purple to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community. But why shouldn’t this be relevant for us at work too? Purple Friday is about showing solidarity. Even though we're not students anymore, the message of acceptance and respect is important everywhere, including at our workplaces. By wearing purple, we show that we support an environment where everyone can be themselves. ☂️ It's a small action, but it can send a positive signal to colleagues who might be part of the LGBTQ+ community or have family and friends who are. It shows that we are more than just colleagues; we are a community that cares about each other. So, let's bring a splash of purple to our workday this tomorrow. It's a simple yet powerful gesture to show that we stand for a workplace where everyone is welcome. Happy Pride Month🏳️🌈   Every year in June, the LGBTQ+ community around the world celebrates pride month and embraces the sexual identity and diversity in society. On LinkedIn in particular, many companies wrap their logo in rainbow colors to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community in their public image. But is that really enough - Is this a true statement? 🤔 In my opinion, it is a nice sign, but the question is, is it also being lived internally? Does every colleague of the company feel that they are accepted for who they are? And most importand: all year round and not just in June? Equal rights for all colleagues must not only be created on paper within the company, but also a space for them to express themselves.  Inspired colleagues will takle the extra mile, will pay back with extraordinary outcomes, will push themselves out of their comfort zone to achieve outstanding results. Growth is happening outside the comfort zone. Organizational and personal. But it is essential to have this comfort zone as a starting point, where everybody can be themselves. By the way: That doesn't just apply to companies, but to society in general. Authenticity MATTERS! 57% of LGBTQ+ workers say their employer recognizes pride month in some way, but 62% said it’s worse to make a half-hearted pride month effort than do nothing at all... This is incredibly important and timely for brands to understand, especially as it relates to new product launches or marketing tactics centered around Pride in June. Every year, companies are blamed for Pink-washing - the practice of adopting superficial measures to appear supportive of issues while lacking genuine commitment to the cause. Changing your logo is not enough! Commitment to causes, such as Pride and the Queer Community, takes long-term investment and recognition all year long.   So, take this as a reminder to:  1.
