12 days ago I left Siegburg after a fantastic Siegwerk Global Leadership Forum. It was the the first time since 2019 that we were able to meet in person. What is left 12 days after? New and deepened personal connections, insights into aspects of our business, new ideas and inspiration. But most of all: an immense gratitude for how far we have come in 4 years on our sustainability and circular economy transformation journey. 4 years ago - while still being at Systemiq Ltd. - the project team presented the first bits and pieces of the circular economy strategy at the last global leadership meeting. Still conceptional and often foreign. 4 unusual years later CE does not need a separate slot anymore: It is embedded in our core business strategy, we have proven that we can innovate from within. We have expanded from CE to a holistic sustainability transformation - to include carbon reduction, human rights in the supply chain, diversity/equity/inclusion. We are not done yet, but we have come a long way. And it felt good taking a little time acknowledging this, refueling - before competing the climb.
