The Viega Foundation is one year old, and we are celebrating this birthday by supporting another organisation that works to improve access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) 🎇 Since 15 June, the Viega Foundation has been a partner of PERIOD., a non-profit organisation founded by young people. PERIOD. aims to make a nationwide statement against period poverty in the USA. Period provides unbureaucratic help to people who do not have enough money to buy sanitary products. Not only by offering products free of charge, but also through nationwide educational work that sensitises people to the issue and raises awareness. The Viega Foundation supports PERIOD.’s initiatives in Miami, Florida, as well as in the states of Kansas and Colorado, where Viega LLC is based. With this commitment, PERIOD. and the Viega Foundation contribute to the promotion of gender equality and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6. The Viega Foundation is proud to support the important work of PERIOD. Together, we are committed to making a sustainable difference in the communities where we live and work 🤝 You can find more information about the Viega Foundation's commitment here: https://lnkd.in/entKtvw3 #Viega #ViegaFoundation #PeriodPoverty #SDG6 #WASH

Why are women and children collecting water — are men not helping? 🤔 In many of the communities we work with, families split the duties necessary to survive. Traditionally, men will earn the family’s income through agricultural or manual work; women will collect water, cook and look after children. Providing a local source of clean water can drastically reduce the amount of time women and children need to spend collecting water, and vastly improve their health. It can also open up opportunities for women to earn an income themselves, and for children to attend school. We regularly train women in communities on how to maintain and repair their water and toilet technologies, and how to create a management board for them. Providing women with applicable skills and responsibilities can help towards gender equality and the realisation of their rights. #FAQ #AskUsAnything #Water #Charity

Exciting Milestone for SAVING SOULS FOUNDATION I am excited to share that Saving Soul Foundation has successfully provided 5 sewing machines to deserving families who have the talent but lack the resources to kickstart their sewing ventures. Additionally, we support those in need through our food distribution program, providing essential items like sugar, flour, tea, and rice packages. Our mission is to empower women, promote gender equality, and support vulnerable communities through various initiatives. Our efforts align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 🔹 SDG 1: No Poverty - By equipping women with sewing machines, we help them create a sustainable source of income. 🔹 SDG 2: Zero Hunger - Through our food distribution program, we ensure that basic nutritional needs are met for many families. 🔹 SDG 5: Gender Equality - We are committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality by providing the tools and training they need to succeed. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our plans to offer comprehensive training programs. These programs will teach women how to effectively run their sewing businesses from home, further enabling them to achieve financial independence and contribute to their communities. However, we need your support to continue our mission. Many poor women are on our list waiting for sewing machines, but due to a shortage of funds, we have had to temporarily stop our distributions. Your generous donations can help us provide more machines and continue making a difference. A heartfelt thank you to all our donors and supporters who make our work possible. Together, we are creating a brighter future for these talented women and their families. #SavingSoulFoundation #WomenEmpowerment #GenderEquality #SDGs #NoPoverty #ZeroHunger #SewingMachines #CommunitySupport #FuturePlans #DonateNow 🙏❤️
