The deal, which calls for 2 million metric tons a year of LNG over 20 years, is the first binding agreement for the proposed Ksi Lisims project, the companies said Monday. 🇺🇸 🚨 Majors Oppose Venture Global’s Plans to Delay Its Calcasieu Pass LNG Plant The three supermajors that are suing Venture Global for breach of LNG delivery contracts have attacked again, asking U.S. regulators to be allowed to voice their position on Venture Global's plans to further delay the official launch of its Calcasieu Pass LNG plant. Venture Global has been allowed to delay the commissioning of the Calcasieu Pass facility for one year by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission but that permit expires soon. Venture Global wants to renew it for another year. US natural gas producer EQT Corporation has signed a head of agreement with Commonwealth LNG for liquefaction services from the proposed facility in Cameron, Louisiana. EQT plans to liquefy 1 million tons per annum of LNG under a 15-year tolling agreement, although final terms are subject to negotiation. Commonwealth LNG expects a final investment decision in Q1 2024, with the first cargo deliveries anticipated in 2027. Ukraine agrees LNG supply deal with Venture Global According to Reuters Ukraine signed its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) deal with a U.S. company to help to avert an energy supply deficit. DTEK Group, Ukraine's largest private energy company, said it will buy LNG from Venture Global. Under the agreement, DTEK's trading unit D. Trading will buy cargoes from Venture Global's Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana from Q4, 2024 until the end of 2026.D. Trading will also purchase up to 2 million tonnes per year of LNG from Venture Global's third facility, Calcasieu Pass 2, for 20 years. Ukraine currently has no regasification terminals for LNG imports but DTEK has contracts for regasification capacity elsewhere in Europe which have connecting pipelines with Ukraine.
