Last week I was recognized for reaching a certain milestone. I've never really been one for celebrations (working on it 🎉). At the time, I passed on a simple repost - seemed too self-congratulatory. As I reflected over the past week, a number of thoughts came to mind, some that I thought worth sharing. 💭
✅ Milestones are markers. They help us be better rememberers (we tend to be pretty good at forgetting). Markers keep us focused on the important ➡ Joshua 4.
✅ Each project I've completed was an opportunity to journey alongside an organization that was laboring in the 'already but not yet' - carrying out a mission that impacts the world now, with a focus on eternal implications. I've been honored and humbled with each of these partnerships.
✅ Our work at Vanderbloemen places a high value on face-to-face interactions, as do I. So 100 engagements resulted in a lot of miles 🛫 and nights away from home 🛌. I miss a lot of things, but it keeps me focused on the intentionality I need to bring as a husband and father when I am home. A work in progress for sure - "intentional" is my word for 2024 - want to join me ⁉
✅ I have a rockstar wife🤘(see point above). Deeply invest in your family as you journey the adventure of living life together and execute the mission statement you're focused on in your home. Love the work you do, but your family focus is far more important than what you do for remuneration.
✅ This is a marker, not a finish line. The journey continues.
Carry on my friends 💪
