What role should artists play in the placemaking process?... 🌿DESIGN Imagine walking into a building, and instead of the usual bland architecture, you are welcomed by vibrant murals and digital art installations, giving it a distinct identity. Having an artist support you in transforming even the most "boring" areas in a building, into an memorable experience. An example from my previous work: At Factory Hammerbrooklyn a local artist was invited to use the staircase as his canvas to tell a story that people will remember. 🎬 PROGRAMMING Include them in the curation of the programming strategy to activate your spaces. Save them a seat in panels or as moderator for presentations, adding another perspective to the usual mix. Start an artist in residence program and create a bridge between arts & innovation 💫 So why not make this the "new normal" and invite local artists to the drawing board right from the get-go for the placemaking process? For me it really is about more than just aesthetics; it's about creating a space that's alive, dynamic and tells your story. 🚀 But my question:  How to best integrate artists into the development of real estate and space design? And has anyone been in a space where this was already blended in a great way? Striking the Senses with Experiential Design In our recent collaboration with event designers, The Envelop, we took the visitors on an immersive tribal journey. Several multimedia designs played a crucial role in transforming a mere forest space into a realm of wonder. Every tree on the journey was accentuated using projection lighting. To add to the mystical allure, waves of laser beams and fog clouds played an ancillary role. Original acoustics and soundscapes mimicked the environment of the jungle and wielded the art of storytelling. This combination of immersive technologies ensured that the space was transformed to cast a whole new perspective on the environment and be seen from a new lens.
