This is really important. You cannot deliver Net Zero ambitions without the offshore wind and the transmission networks. And you cannot deliver that without the supply chain. So bear in mind we need an order of magnitude increase in assets and people to do so. Frankly the current GB policy support and regulatory frameworks does not yet support that. This study is helping both to articulate the challenges and identify changes needed.
We're assessing the UK's renewable technology supply chains for The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Through this work, we identify risks and constraints that could materially impact the UK's ability to deliver its renewable deployment targets. We will use this assessment to recommend policy interventions to mitigate risks and maximise the UK's renewable deployment potential.
