Our regional partner, Aldo Rubiales, gave the team a super warm welcome. He organized cool trips around Buenos Aires, where the guys learned more about Argentina’s football culture, as well as the city’s history and architecture. They tried local dishes and drinks and were so excited about meeting in Argentina. 👍 Our team attended the #adobesummit2024. We organized a lot of meetings with our partners to benefit our long-standing partnerships and foster new ones. As an Adobe Bronze partner, we know how to assist companies in maximizing their digital efforts and unleashing the hidden potential of Adobe for their brand. The Verdane team had a lot of fun at last week's SaaSiest CEO network kickoff, attended by 100+ business leaders from across the Nordics! Pål Malmros had the pleasure of joining a panel during the day together with Deel, Oxx and Float, with a couple of takeaways: - Going into 2024, the overall sentiment is that business leaders can start planning for an upturn – if we will feel it for real in 2024 or later is an open question, but the outlook is more stable and potentially better than a year ago - The main trend that will affect us all in 2024 is AI. SaaS companies need a moat that goes beyond pure technology - network effects, data assets, deep vertical or domain expertise, and being a trusted advisor to clients are things not easily replicated even with AI - Capital markets: The last 12-18 months were very quiet, other than for deeply profitable software companies. Conditions are now starting to normalize; multiples will “never” be back at 2021 levels, but the appetite for growth companies that grow fast and efficiently is returning. Congratulations to the 2024 #xTechInternational finalists! The US Army's xTech program is the most successful USG-funded program I know of at identifying impactful international emerging tech startups and teaching them how to partner effectively with the USG (in this case with the United States Department of Defense). This year's finalists are among the most innovative international startups working on #AI for intelligence and decision-making, #Quantum sensing, and Indigenous Materials Forward. They come from Australia, Canada, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (see company info in the attached link). Its encouraging to see the Army and DOD recognizing and engaging emerging tech ecosystems throughout the world, and providing mentorship and exprtise to these companies to help accelerate and transition their technologies into the DOD Science and Technology ecosystem. 🚀 I’m excited to be here at InsureTech Connect Japan! And just finished Stephen Barnham’s brilliant talk on "Technology is Useless”! 💡 One key takeaway: Try reimagining business processes BEFORE applying technology. He illustrated this by sharing the story of grass-cutting 🌱 In the past, after cutting their grass, people had to bag their heavy clippings and hoist them out 🚮 If you did not bag these clippings, you would not only find clumps of clippings in the grass — the clippings could burn or kill the grass! But just by cutting grass more frequently: ✂️Clippings become smaller ✅You eliminate the need to store the cut grass 🌷The smaller clippings can remain and provide useful nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus back to the soil. 🌱 As we strive to enhance efficiencies and better serve our customers, his talk was a reminder to innovate with more purpose and creativity.
