We are proud to be part of France Deeptech! Officially launched on November 29, France Deeptech is an association dedicated to transforming French and European deeptech startups into world leaders. The association already has 120 members, including research laboratories, start-ups and investment funds. "Smart people build businesses, but wise people build relationships," explained NATO DIANA's innovation officer, Francesca Tortorella at AFCEA's #TechNetInternational in Brussels 🇧🇪 on Thursday. DIANA is the alliance's key innovation adoption program, offering assistance, funding and access to a powerful network of partners, users, venture capitalists and other resources. The program is structured around challenges. As part of the validation process for new capabilities, innovators can test at 200 facilities as part of the technology acquisition program the alliance runs through this unit. They have already received 1300 applications after three challenge calls and 44 innovative companies were accepted. Each receiving US$100,000 as initial funding. This also gives them access to a mentorship network and venture capitalists that will allow them to speed development and delivery of their capabilities. These companies began in January and will begin in June. Only 9 out of the 44 companies will progress into the growth phase, receiving US$300,000 to continue their work. By 2025 there will be 10 challenges per year, offering more opportunities for innovators to participate in the program, Tortorella told event attendees. #AFCEATNI
