Vertical deformation plays an important role in the performance of athletics tracks and the safety of the athletes using them. The ability of the sports surface to deform under load is very important and is a measurable component of all athletics tracks certified under World Athletics. Too high a deformation can affect the safety of the athlete through an instability of the foot, while the inability of the surface to deform can cause injuries associated with high impact. The World Athletics certification system states that vertical deformation shall be measured onsite between 0.6mm and 2.5mm at any surface temperature between 10°C and 40°C. Laboratory testing for vertical deformation to obtain product certificates are slightly different and are undertaken on samples at a minimum of six approximately equally spaced temperatures over the range of 0°C to 50°C, plus a seventh temperature of 23°C. For more information about in-situ and laboratory testing of class I and II athletic tracks or product certifications, connect with the Trackmaster International team today or reach out to me personally. Our World Athletics accredited laboratory is well equipped to assist with new product certifications, and retesting. #laboratory #testing #insitutesting #athleticstracks

Hot topics: Athletics Track Thickness testing. The consistency and durability of an athletics track surface directly impacts the athletic performance and safety of athletes, and the thickness is no exception. As part of the surface design, there will be specific areas such as the javelin runway or other high wearing areas where there safety of the athlete and the durability of the surface will dictate that the thickness be greater than the minimum specification as set for the rest of the facility. World Athletics set specific testing requirements for the various areas of a track in order to meet shock absorption and vertical deformation requirements to ensure athlete safety is maintained at all times. Shock absorption and vertical deformation characteristics will however, take precedence over the thickness requirements which is why appropriate laboratory and in-situ testing must be carried out by a trusted World Athletics certified laboratory like Trackmaster International. If you have any questions about World Athletics Accreditation I'm more than happy to chat so feel free to reach out. #laboratory #testing #athletics #sports #construction

The life of a pro athlete is fragile; in one second, everything can change. From a young age, I dreamt of playing professionally, fixated on La Liga as a massive Barça fan. I dedicated my youth to relentless training, games, and youth national team camps. My hard work paid off with a full scholarship to University of California, Berkeley and, at 21, my first pro contract with Sevilla FC. Then, in a single contact collision, my world shifted. I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus, all at once. Weeks in a foreign country followed, enduring a 6-hour surgery and two months unable to put weight on my leg. This ordeal made me realize that my career's fragility mirrored my financial situation. I used this time to pivot and grow. I began doing market research, focusing on areas within the women's football industry that needed improvement and change. I connected with industry professionals, leveraging my network to gain insights and explore opportunities which eventually led to the creation of DivineTime Agency. This period of reflection and learning became a crucial turning point, broadening my perspective and opening doors to new possibilities. This isn’t to scare you. It's a reminder: if you're a student athlete or a pro, always think of yourself as more than just an athlete. Prepare for life beyond the sport. Your future self will thank you. #studentathlete #proathlete #womeninbusiness #womeninsports
