Soon, the EU Battery Regulations require certain batteries to have a digital battery passport. Some requirements on performance and durability reporting come into play in August already. TWAICE is part of the Battery Pass Consortium. The consortium helps guide the Battery Passport requirements. As part of our work in the consortium we advise on the performance & durability metrics such as State of Health. Our latest article summarizes the current landscape when it comes to the requirements for performance and durability data: https://lnkd.in/dK_Wzmjh — #TWAICE unleashes the full potential of batteries with battery analytics software #batteries #eu #batterypassport #batteryregulation

(Double) week that was Observation of the week: RAN energy savings - from talk to real deployments. According to my back-of-the-envelope count, we are active in 21 major AI-based automation projects around the world. This is no small feat, as lots of data feeds need to be integrated, deep dives with customer SMEs to happen, and there is a continued need for ML models “kaizen”. Out of the many solutions, currently the biggest topic is Power Savings Advisor (PSA). It’s been over a year since our White Paper was launched, and around three years since we first went live with PSA. Now, the energy savings mass market has caught up - a big wave of real-life deployment requests is coming our way as 5G roll-outs are settling in and focus has shifted to optimum “all-G” operations (my theory, what’s your take on this?) RE: PSA projects - Dear customers, bear with us as we shuffle our resources to make sure we can support everyone with the level you deserve. One thing is certain: It is worth it. -petri

Happy to share our latest research titled "Driving Electric Mobility Considering Manufacturers’ Power Asymmetry in Presence of the Government's Policy Instruments" is published now with IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. The paper is available at the following link. https://lnkd.in/dSv9SNna Abstract With electric mobility gaining traction worldwide, manufacturers are constantly aligning their strategies in line with the government's policy interventions. Therefore, we consider a supply chain wherein a manufacturer sells gasoline vehicles (GVs), and another manufacturer sells electric vehicles (EV) exclusively. We investigate the competition among vehicle manufacturers vis-à-vis their relative positioning in the presence of government policy instruments. We develop a stylized game-theoretic model, wherein the government is the leader, and manufacturers are the followers. We examine three distinct supply chain structures by varying strategic positioning of the manufacturers: 1) no dominance by either manufacturer, 2) EV manufacturer's dominance, and 3) the GV manufacturer's dominance. This article is the first to include manufacturer's power asymmetry in the EV supply chain and subsequently generates multifaceted insights for the government, manufacturers, and consumers. For instance, in the case of non-dominance, higher social welfare is generated when either tax or subsidy is deployed as a policy instrument. We find that supply chain profit is highest for the EV dominance case, followed by the GV dominance case for low values of the EV's cost-coefficient. Similarly, we find important thresholds regarding the environmental impact of vehicles and consumer hassle depending on the manufacturer's power asymmetry. Rajeev Ranjan KumarAbhishek Chakraborty
