Custom-developed Shamir equipment already protects BWT Alpine F1® Team members from hazards as diverse as loose debris and lasers. Besides corrective lenses for all the Alpine personnel who needed them, Shamir also developed prescription goggles for the pit crew members and safety lenses for aerodynamicists in the wind-tunnel. For Alpine, performance and safety on the track needs performance and safety off the track, too. And Shamir applied the same performance-and-safety philosophy to Drive Intelligence lenses, helping non-F1 drivers get the best out of every drive, while enhancing their safety. A reminder from MPI: How to maneuver a roundabout: 1. Reduce your speed and be prepared to yield to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles already in the roundabout. *If two vehicles arrive at the same time, the vehicle on the right should enter the roundabout first.* 2. Keep close to the center, until you reach the street you wish to exit on. Signal your intention to exit in advance. 3. If multiple roundabout lanes, move to the outside right lane to prepare to leave the roundabout. *Remember to always yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and cyclists!

Only Formula 1 demands so much precision from the vision performance of its participants, cramming so much information into their eyes so quickly, forcing their brains to operate at incomprehensible processing speeds. And to us, that sounds like the perfect challenge for an optical performance company. No other sport requires participants to find and focus on a gaze point, then switch to a new gaze point, so quickly, over and over again, while operating at an elevated heart rate and under severe physical effort in all weather and light conditions. For all its veneration, the C3 Corvette was never particularly effective in any racing format. The massive and powerful V-8's available just made the driving geometry even more unbalanced and difficult to handle. On the street, such vehicles just puke heat onto the driver requiring massive A/C units on almost constantly and driving your mileage down to the 6-8 miles per gallon range on a big block. If you drove the high-compression motors, A/C wasn't available and you'd see doofuses driving around with their windows wide open in winter to shed some heat. To make matters worse, the brakes were ridiculously undersized and continuously failed on this model. They were so difficult to drive and optimized for little beyond picking up chicks that A LOT of them survive to this day. It's a tough platform and not nearly as difficult to safely maintain as a HEMI, but it's also a difficult vehicle to drive very far and enjoy. Expect many to be available in the near future as their primary enthusiasts die-off. Unlike most muscle cars, relatively easy to get parts for since almost every time you take it out of the garage something will break. Finding competent people to work on them is a far more difficult task. You could get them in at least 7 different motor options.
