Belgium x Brekr x Brussels (and Kortrijk) We share a lot with our great Belgian neighbours, but we seem to love our bikes three times as much in the Netherlands. Check out the differences in privately owned bicycles or scooters as the main mode of transport: (1) The Netherlands: 41% (2) Sweden: 21%. (3) Germany: 15%. ... (7) Belgium: 12%. EU-28 average: 8% *. Okay, so Holland is a pretty flat country (the highest mountain is still 322 meters), but e-bikes make cities like Brussels flat too. And the F250 is the 'city-SUV-electric-bike' designed to get you around in our European capital. Or anywhere else in Belgium. See the all-new F250 this week at: - Velofolies - Kortrijk (at the Bafang stand) - Autosalon - Brussels (at the Pack stand with other electric bikes) NOTE: We still have room for a few more dealers in Belgium. * The EU survey: https://lnkd.in/gz5dUSEM

Here are the five questions I am most interested in regarding the 2024 Eurobike show during its 5-day exhibition period: 1. Can we understand the current hidden inventory levels in Europe? 2. What are the bicycle sales models in Europe for 2024 and 2025? Store sales? Online sales? Rental sales? What is the after-sales service situation for various Pedelec system components in the European region? 3. What is the market share ratio of mid-drive motors versus rear-drive motors? 4. What follow-up issues have arisen in various European countries due to this year's spring weather conditions? Will there be a significant increase in the construction of bicycle lanes between cities? 5. What will be the scale of the bicycle economy after inflation eases?

Lightweight Gravel Electric Bike Boosts Range by 50% Italian bicycle manufacturer 3T has launched a new model of their Gravel electric bike, which is 12 kilograms lighter than its predecessor and also boasts an increased range. The key components of the RaceMax Boost include the Mahle hub motor (X-20), a 150-kilometer range battery, and a carbon fiber frame. The battery capacity has been increased from 236 Wh to 350 Wh. Despite the larger battery, the frame material keeps the Gravel e-bike relatively lightweight. Additionally, there is an option to attach a 173 Wh bottle battery to extend the range per charge, though this will add 1.1 kilograms to the overall weight. In a blog post, 3T explained, "With relatively mild power management, riders under 75 kilograms can comfortably cover over 150 kilometers on hilly, fast gravel/paved routes with an elevation gain of 2000 meters, considering the EU's speed limit of 25 km/h." #Lightweight #LightweightAsia2024 #bicyclemanufacturer #framematerial To learn more about the market trends, stay tuned to Lightweight Asia 2024 Date: 03-05 July 2024 Venue: Shanghai New International Expo Center Learn more:https://lnkd.in/gid2RGSb

INDICATA Italy has published its 2023 monthly report with a two-dimensional cross-section: regions and food. Are Italians ready to switch from #ICE cars to #BEVs? Is the use of non-purely ICE cars a social issue? Referring to the usual 3 KPIs measured on the car fleet less than 4 years old from the date of registration, we immediately noticed an important difference in the stock: we go from a car fleet with 47% of electrified cars compared to ICE cars recorded in the North to a car fleet with about 26% of electrified compared to ICE in the South. Does this difference depend on infrastructural reasons? Moving on to the number of used cars sold online we recorded a strong difference between North and South with numbers that differ by 20%.

The bicycle market has grown a lot in the last three years and today at a European level there are signs of adjustment on the markets. At the same time, the redesign of mobility within large cities is only just beginning and the bicycle will be a leading player. This leads to great job opportunities for managers who know how to catch the right challenges. The ability of companies to develop internal skills and attract managers from more mature sectors could be a success factor. In a market where demand is slowing down, the search for skills related to brand management, e-commerce, strong knowledge of foreign markets and supply chain become a factor of success. Personally I think that acquiring skills from sectors such as FMCG, consumer electronics and semi-durable goods can be a success factor. These markets before the bicycle industry have experienced this industry life cycle. Bike Europe #emobility #consumergoods #whitegoods #ecommerce

Time to reflect upon the Japan Mobility Show, which ended last Sunday. Before the event, I was quite sure we are witnessing the end of the "motor show" era, with many large-scale automobile exhibitions around the world struggling to attract visitors. With many manufacturers switching to the tech-oriented CES or switching to pop-up events for a better share of voice, I was not quite sure what to expect. The numbers, however, speak for themselves. Not only did over 1.1 million visitors attend the Japan Mobility Show in general, but the reaction was overwhelmingly positive. With over 60.000 visitors on one day (triple of the previous record), the ISUZU Group booth was running at its maximum capacity. Waiting time topped one hour to sit inside a truck, most merchandise was sold out and we clocked 1400% more visitors to our special page than last time. For the first time, ISUZU and UD Trucks combined their booth as ISUZU Group, requiring more coordination but also opening up new synergies. Another innovation was hiring non-Japanese as well as male both attendants, dressed in unisex and sustainable uniforms to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and sustainability. All contents were bilingual as it should be for a global group. We also challenged the "open booth" standard by enclosing the booth and immersing visitors in our world. We were also the first commercial vehicle brand to welcome visitors with banners in the entrance hall. Lots of innovations and efforts, but they all were worthwhile! All in all, it looks like there is still plenty of love out there for cars in general, but definitely also for commercial vehicles, which should give everyone in the industry confidence to power on. For an impression, have a look at the booth impression video: https://lnkd.in/gzCHWZUR #japanmobilityshow2023 #japanmobilityshow #isuzugroup #isuzu #udtrucks #motorshow #mobility #モビリティーショー #モーターショー

Great news for petrolheads here: Porsche's planned S$100m experience centre opens in Changi in 2027. But it won't just be a place for driving fun. Porsche APAC CEO Hannes R. told us that the centre will target the region, including transiting tourists from China, Australia and India. It's also open to renting out the venue - track and all - to other car brands. As an experience centre alone, I doubt Porsche could recoup the costs of setting up. But as an aftersales location, lifestyle and event space, it's far more worth the investment. In a historical footnote, petrol heads will be happy that there's finally a facility that caters to dynamic driving in Singapore. Porsche stops short of calling it a racing track, but I guess it'll be a lot more fun than driving around a carpark. Back in 2007, the planned Changi Motorsports Hub would have been the first permanent racing track in Singapore and there was even talks of holding a MotoGP race there. That failed big time. Given Porsche's track record, this project is far less likely to go off piste. #porsche #singapore #stb
