Hello 2024! First morning back and I've successfully remembered my password and cleared down my inbox! #winning I'm not one for new year resolutions but I was trying to remember back to this time last year and what was I concerned/focused/excited about for the year ahead - the things that don't really get reflected in the annual plan! So to help my recollection on Jan 2, 2025 this is what I'm thinking right now: Concerns: - Economic volatility and uncertainty may continue and the trickle-down effect that has on budgets and pace of decision-making - Stop/Start marketing, linked to above, and the cascading pressure this places on marketing teams and their agencies. It felt like we delivered 12 months of work in the last 3 months of last year, which truthfully left us exhausted! Balance and momentum is everything and I'm pleased to say 2024 is starting on a much more stable footing. - We're in an election year in the US and UK which typically injects positive market sentiment - I hope that continues to hold true this year! Excitement: - We celebrate 5 years of Seeblue at the end of February. It's a milestone many small businesses don't reach and although I've certainly made mistakes along the way, I've learnt so much and the sense of achievement and pride is very real! - The agency and the team is growing and I expect us to be at least double our size by end of the year. We have a wonderful team bond and great relationships with clients and partners alike which I want to retain as we grow. - I'm about to kick off home renovations which I've been planning for 2 years. I cannot wait to sit in my new kitchen 🤩 and finally remove the blurred virtual background when I take calls at home!! Focus: - Growth, but not at all costs! We have clarity and confidence in what we're really good at....and what we're not. I want to make brave decisions about whether an opportunity is right for us, and to walk away when it's not. - Continuous learning. The next wave of innovation in B2B marketing is well underway - meaningful 1:1 personalisation with scalability is possible, buyers are in the driving seat, and metrics of success are shifting. I'm curious about the new possibilities and application of technologies that we will deploy this year. - Personal brand. Awareness of the Seeblue brand is growing strongly but my personal brand is still intrinsically linked and while I have a love/hate relationship with writing and sharing thoughts publically it's my goal to be more consistent this year! So, now I've put that out there, anyone else want to share what they're thinking about the year ahead? #newyear #lookingahead
