Are Media Exclusices A Strategic Advantage or Risky Bet? The strategy of offering exclusives to select journalists or outlets can be a double-edged sword. That’s a wrap on the 2024 Warrior Games. This was my sixth Warrior Games, and it was incredible to once again lead the Strategic Communications and Public Relations efforts. The people, the sports and the community are all inspirations. Why are you talking 𝐀𝐓 your people when you should be talking 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 them? In the hustle of creating compelling content, we often miss a simple yet powerful tool—asking questions. It's easy to overlook, but it holds the key to creating content that truly resonates. It got me thinking - Why aren't we doing this more in our content creation? Consider this: Are your social media posts, blog entries, and press releases easy for your audience to follow and engage with? Or are you bombarded with clarifying questions and dwindling engagement? Let’s face it, the younger professionals are already doing this, and they’re the ones coming for your job, not AI. AI capabilities are nothing short of astonishing. PR measurement isn't easy, but it's necessary! Like every other team in a business, PR pros have to show the value of their efforts. Spin Sucks founder Gini Dietrich (who created the PESO Model and literally wrote the book on integrated strategic communications) has some great tips on how to stay ahead of the trends and use data to show results! It's worth the read if you're a PR pro or anyone who wants to know how to show the value of your PR efforts.
Measuring PR is not exactly easy. Much of our work leads to brand reputation, trust, authority, and credibility. You know if you have earned those things—and if you haven't. But being able to tie them directly to sales, which is what every CEO cares about? Super challenging. That's why we take a hybrid approach with our clients, consistently evolving our efforts to stay ahead of trends and use the data at our fingertips.
