#tstransition Jochen Lam: Simplicity is key – Unveiling the essence in complexity It inspires me to identify the logic in complex situations unveiling straightforward strategies. In my approach to conceptual development, I delve into analyzing the circumstances to favor the most logical and therefore ‘simple’ design. Whether programming, developing comfort or energy supply concepts, this is my route for robust and forward-looking solutions. Within the design team, this approach enables me to explore the full design scope and present practical options aimed at creating resilient yet uncomplicated systems. Simplicity as key element combines high quality architecture with targeted engineering, reducing the need for complex building technology and elaborate controls. To achieve ‘simply the best solution’ a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals and details is essential. Whether for buildings or energy supply systems or the use of building services elements, understanding physical and thermodynamic principles is paramount. With this conviction, I enjoy sharing my experience and guide young engineers in their professional development. Jochen Lam is one of the ten new Associate Partners who will acquire shares in Transsolar and Transplan in the near future. With the ten new Associate Partners, we begin to diversify and build a solid foundation on which the generational transition can advance in a continuous and open way.
