GTM hiring is definitely on the up! Results being posted are better than expected and there’s confidence building. Even just by looking at jobs posted on LinkedIn, you can see the increase. Already this week a number of my clients have engaged us to find Account Executives, Customer Success and Marketing individuals across EMEA and North America Individuals we are talking to, now have a number of opportunities that they are considering. As you would expect, the regions that seem to be the most active are the UK and Germany (outside of North America). If Vendors were hiring in the first half of the year, it was typically for new business hunters. We are now seeing an increase in hybrid new business/account management roles or more strategic sales roles and even marketing hires are coming through. Perhaps we all got a bit greedy post COVID and now we are starting to see some kind of normality. Hiring a Head of Sales too EARLY 🌅 Yesterday we spoke to a founder and here was the conversation: 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: "We made the same mistake as many founders over the last 12 months" 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱: "What mistake was that?" 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: "Hiring a full-time Head of Sales too early" 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱: "Why did you hire full-time?" 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: "We feel into the trap of listening to people that are building GTM from an old playbook" 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱: "What do you think that cost the business?"
