Any class, and any school group is a good one to share the seven principles of Leave No Trace. Today I had the opportunity to talk about it at three first grade classes. Looking forward to the next step – launching our #milmar social responsibility program 🚀 We want to take our support activities to the next level 🔥 By running this program, we will achieve more consistent and long-term #support of social areas that are close to our values and beliefs. There are many areas that need some kind of support, and it takes some time to consider what are THE ones for us. Although all of them are important for #society, I think we should consider what we can really "offer" and how we able to REALLY impact something positively. We want our program to be impactful and meaningful 🙌 We are very at the beginning, but we already discuss some interesting ideas, so it gives me the hope we will come up with something meaningful to #people 👦 and #nature 🌳 

I never fail to be proud of being a Trustee of the THE RADNORSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST LIMITED We're tiny but mighty. Actually we're tiny but b*llsy too. Important difference. And because Boards hold the purse strings and the Comms and Engagement policies, Board calibre is essential to success. Our Chair Sue Holden leads an exceptionally well run Board - where we efficiently dot i's and cross t's instead of wasting time unpicking poorly made decisions. Speed over haste wins the race every time. We work with anyone who wants to work with us and uphold our values. We don't waste time trying to convert everyone or progress at the pace of the slowest or most recalcitrant. We'll have a coffee with anyone and everyone. But our priorities and our values are our own - they aren't for sale. I know that many Wildlife Trust leadership staff around the country know what needs to be done. And it isn't keeping quiet. More Trust Boards must become expert Trustees and learn how to expertly delegate operational decisions to the expert and experienced staff they hired. We all have our roles to play. We have bags of talent around the UK network, staff and Trustees. But like gifted footballers, can we work together in our separate roles as gifted teams scoring goals for wildlife and standing up against the forces ranged against it? Not easy.

Spotlight on BirdLife Malta's project titled ‘Conservation in movement’, a European Solidarity Corps project selected as good practice in 2022   The main objective of this project was to increase environmental awareness & the project achieved its main objectives, which included: ✅ To promote youth participation in environmental and conservation activities ✅ To foster and develop increased learning and development opportunities for young people   This was possible thanks to the below activities: 🌿 inspiring more people to take action to protect the natural environment of the Maltese islands 🌿 educating children and youth about the importance of natural habitats for birds and other wildlife #volunteering SEM - Servizzi Ewropej f'Malta | Public Service of Malta

This secretive mustelid is really on the comeback and it is absolutely fantastic to see! https://lnkd.in/e9-VejbE The "Cuckoo" of the Ant world has be discovered near royal grounds in Scotland 😲 The elusive shining guest ant has not been seen in the area since 1952, so this is a huge win for wildlife researchers and for Scottish ecosystems. https://lnkd.in/eNVkq2gF A rare but incredible mammal that was named after the great Sir David Attenborough has been rediscovered😎 Yes the Attenborough's Long Beaked Echidna has been caught on camera traps for the first time in the dense forests on Indonesia. What a win for scientists who can now start to map out the distribution, study their behaviour and understand more about their population. We are an NGO in Tanzania working on hyena conservation and human-hyena conflict mitigation. We are located at Lake Eyasi which is in the Northern part of Tanzania, directly bordering Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With the use of wildlife surveying through track and camera trap surveys we can use photo-ID to identify individuals to understand Lake Eyasi's hyena population, their home ranges and possible conflict hotspots. Through our education and awareness program we can work with the local communities to support the human carnivore co-existence by empowering local communities. Our aims are: 1. Feasibility study to establish a program on striped hyena 2. Determination of hyena population density and their geographical distribution 3. Determination of clan sizes and their geographical distribution 4. Determination of their home range 5. Identification of hotspot areas for Human-Hyena-conflict 6. Workshops on awareness for the concerned communities and educational training at schools
