Even though I think this idea is really innovative and consistent, I still have a few questions. Since the vehicle is not autonomous, but relies on the sensors and control of the environment, there must be direct communication which also influences the longitudinal and lateral control. Accordingly, there is a "remote control" option for the vehicle, which is an attack vector that should not be underestimated from a cyber security point of view. Especially since an entire production line / fleet section is then equipped with this access path and the customer cannot exert any influence on this. How do you see this?

Wow. Driverless cars in production at BMW Group plant Dingolfing. The idea is already a few years old. At the end of production, the finished vehicles were driven to the shipping area by employees, 300000 times a year at the Dingolfing plant. If you add a few additional stationary sensors to the technology installed in today's luxury-class vehicles, it should be possible to automate this final production step. It is interesting to note that the manually driven cars have been crossing driverless tugger trains from 4am Robotics and Jungheinrich AG as well as #AMR from idealworks at the end of production for many years. I am very pleased that this idea has now been implemented. We should combine the ideas and minds from the fields of mobile robotics and autonomous car development much more. Today, there are practically two separate developments taking place - one in the field of autonomous cars and one in the field of autonomous mobile robots. The step in the video is hopefully only the first. Imagine if you could order a car from BMW Group and it would not only drive the last few meters in the production plant without a driver, but also come directly to your home autonomously.
