I was at this local coffee shop called Esteamed and got to thinking about the concept of “Making a difference”. (If you are in the Raleigh Durham area consider supporting these folks when you crave a coffee…not only are they making a difference for people with special abilities but they also make great coffee!). Making a difference has always been core to what I look for in a career and life. Making a difference for clients, partners, coworkers. And the world at large. In fact, this may sound strange as a sales leader, but making a difference has been a higher priority for me than the money. And I find that when I focus on making a difference the money follows because I am giving my best to solve problems and create opportunities. Hopefully, the clients and colleagues I work with see this in me, as I authentically care about their business and roles and goals and if I don’t see a clear way to make a difference in a situation I will say so. I’d rather not get a deal when we can’t truly make a positive impact. Same for job searches. And Lately, I am having so much fun working with 280 Group because our team has this same value! I think all of my colleagues are excited to get up everyday and make a difference for product teams around the world. Refreshing and energizing to be around such a team.
