We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Basel, Switzerland, site where the introduction of innovative robotics and integrated solutions for clinical trials support will help the European pharmaceutical and #biotech industry meet critical needs in the drug development process and accelerate delivery of new therapies to the patients who need them most.

We’re excited to collaborate with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) on the myeloMATCH umbrella trial in an effort to help advance research in precision oncology. This groundbreaking program will fast-track acute myeloid leukemia patient enrollment in clinical trials informed by genomic insights provided by our next-day, sequencing technology. Accelerating this research provides hope for a future in which patients will have access to the right therapies based on their genomic profile and transform their cancer treatment journey. https://bit.ly/4f1iACO

Earlier this month, our site in Monza, Italy celebrated the grand opening of our local Training Center & Aseptic Academy. It’s a cutting-edge space that leverages augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) to provide colleagues working across our #Steriles manufacturing capabilities – from operations to quality – with the opportunity to train in both hands-on and simulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments. Thermo Fisher Scientific leaders – including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Michel Lagarde, Drug Product President Simona Fugazza and Vice President and General Manager for Drug Product EU and APAC Alexandre Pasini – attended the event.

We are celebrating 10 years of #renewableenergy at our site in Cork, Ireland! The site is home to our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing facility and home to our very own wind turbine, which stands 100 meters tall with 50 meter blades. The turbine has generated more than 75,000 megawatt hours of #electricity – the equivalent of powering approximately 17,000 homes for a year. In 2023 alone, the wind turbine generated 19% of the site’s energy, helping the company make progress toward the goal of reaching net zero emissions. We are excited to have announced the opening of a new clinical and commercial ultra-cold facility in the Netherlands designed to help accelerate the development of advanced therapies. The new current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) facility provides pharma and biopharma customers tailored, end-to-end support throughout the clinical supply chain for high-value therapies, including cell and gene therapies, biologics, antibodies, and vaccines. Additionally, the site is designed to use 15% solar power and operates completely gas-free. It also provides sustainable heating and cooling with eco-friendly electric heat pumps and uses ultramodern heat recovery technology. https://lnkd.in/eQ-7Kx-f
